Dining Decor

ModCloth
I tend to gravitate towards neutral and darker tones for most of my closet needs, but when it comes to adding a pop of color to an otherwise monotonous environment, I get a bit more adventurous. In my opinion, food and beverages fall under the colorful category that should never look dull. How else to brighten up a tabletop than with some striking colors and patterns? Here are some fun plates I would love to use for my meals.

Street Style

Casual tops + skirts

Street styles are one of the most covetable looks that people usually strive for. Something about its simplicity and effortlessly chic vibe make it appealing to the eye. Although some street style looks are assembled with high-end brands (especially during fashion weeks) there is still an abundance of casual looks that may be easier to replicate. Here are few of my favorite casual elegance ensembles, all from my Pinterest board! See my previous Street Style post here.

Spring Sunset

It puzzles me to think that the temperature along the lake (Lake Michigan to be exact) can vary significantly from the neighboring suburban towns. There is a difference of about 15-20 degrees, with suburbia being the warmer area of the two. For times like this, a solid pair of joggers becomes a lot more useful than expected - the thicker material helps with chilly mornings and the loose tailoring keeps it breezy for the afternoon weather. Plus, who doesn't want to be in a chic version of sweatpants?!

Pretty Pleasures

               - A fun new online magazine called, Couture goes Corporate for which I contribute to occasionally -

Right when I had put my winter coats to rest, the frigid air (with snow!) came back to Chicago this week. Though I'm not too happy about the temperature dropping again, I know that summer is not too far away and that gives me a glimmer of hope. Here are few simple things that bring back pleasant memories from the past few months! Enjoy!
